Greenleaf Recreation Center

Our Mission

The Greenleaf Rec Center exists to be a safe place for children and families in the surrounding area. We offer recreational and educational activities for local kids such as taekwondo lessons, swimming lessons, cooking lessons, after school homework help and physical training.

Life Skills Development
with Jennifer

We will explore and perform activities to promote positive self-esteem, explore and build positive coping skills, learn and model not only positive social skills, but also life skills.

  • Cooking classes

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Board Games / Card Games

  • Learning to manage your feelings

  • Discussion Groups that include conflict resolution, assertiveness, problem solving, and listening skills

  • Learning life skills such as money management, budgeting, balancing checkbooks and more

  • Potential field trips

Karate Classes

Head instructor, Justin Mason, with more than 25 years of experience, is teaching karate to kids and adults.

  • Justin offers an experience of challenging fun while learning selfdefense techniques and the principles of black belt. The principles of black belt that are taught are honesty, courtesy, integrity, self-control, perseverance, and an indomitable spirit.

  • Justin's karate training methods can build your strength, conditioning, coordination, and improve your focus, confidence, self-control, patience and inner peace.

Class Schedule

  • Kids Basic: Mondays 5:00pm-5:45pm

  • Kids Advanced: Wednesdays 5:00pm-5:45pm

  • Adults: Mondays 6:00pm-7:00pm

  • Adults Cardio: Wednesdays 6:00pm-7:00pm

Performance Training Facility

This newly installed facility is intended to provide targeted physical performance training. Participants will have a specific improvement objective defined (with trainer input as required) and the workouts are structured and directed by a personal trainer.

  • Use is by appointment; signup is required. Available time slots will be posted at the entrance to the facility. You can call in, using the Rec Center phone number and specify a day and time in the facility operating hours.

  • Drop ins during scheduled gym hours will be accommodated based on open time slot availability.

  • Use of any and all equipment requires specific instruction covering technique and proper warmup.

  • Capacity at any given session: 4 participants maximum

  • Supervised attendance and use only

  • Minimum participant age is 13.

Mountain Biking

Take advantage of our new fleet of full suspension mountain bikes wiht our Tuesday evening mountain biking activity. Riders of allskill levels are welcome.

Program Details

  • Instruction on basic bike maintenance will be provided.

  • Riding skills instruction will be provided (required for beginners) on our skateboard park space. All riders will be evaluated before taking actual trail rides.

  • Bikes, helmets and water bottles will be provided.

  • Trail rides: Transportation to the trail ride location will be provided.Trail location is dependent on the skill level(s) of the riders.

  • Training and trail rides will take place Tuesday evenings. Advance signup is required. Call the Greenleaf Rec Center and leave your name and specify mountain biking Participants are limited to 6. minimum participant age is 13.
